Finally a break from work!
Finally have a *short* break between shifts to pick up some awesome furniture pieces tomorrow!! Mama's got lots of work to do, and daddy's not gonna be happy until all the pieces are done and found a home outside of his garage!

Striped Walls
I absolutely LOVE the way Jayden's bedroom turned out. Poor kid was disappointed that I had plans to paint everyone's room except his. But really all the rooms' walls were painted a standard beige color and he is going to have an Americana theme to it, so why bother to paint??
Well, to not let him down, I decided to do striped walls for his room instead. It took me a really long time to decide what color matched his room best based on the color samples from Lowes. I looked at it from every angle and in every lighting before I could decide which direction the beige was going. I was convinced, initally, that it was a warm brown based beige, turns out the beige on our walls actually have more of a gray hue to it... weird, right? Oh and PS, Lowes offers a 10% Military Discounts to all my military families out there ;)
After measuring the height of the wall, I divided it up and ended up with a rough 13 inches per stripe. I liked the idea of 13 because it's my husband's lucky number :)
(there was an extra 1.5" remainder so I made the bottom stripe an extra 0.5" and the top stripe an extra 1" to save myself the headache of measuring 13.2142857142 inches!)
Also, my husband made a good point when he said to me to keep the "unpainted" stripe starting out with the baseboard so we didn't have to worry about taping and painting near the baseboard (smart man, ain't he?). Well, I went above and beyond and made sure to include in my calculations the ceiling stripe was maintained as the 'unpainted' stripe as well. With only window and door trimmings left to tape (and believe me, there was plenty to tape already!), we were ready to start painting the stripes!
