Craigslist China Cabinet

I have been searching long and hard for the perfect China Cabinet for my dining room. Fear of large projects and a bigger furniture commitment, I passed up this beauty for over a month:

The seller was very aggressive and reposted this Craigslist ad almost every other day....but stupid me kept passing it up... Then when I finally felt ready to commit, he stopped posting. And even deleted the ad. Sold from under me :(   (well not really, I was the procrastinator... but I still feel cheated!)

So I've been on a hunt. But no French Provincial cabinets ever appeared on Craigslist again.... Well it was maybe all of 2 weeks...but it felt like F.O.R.E.V.E.R.

So the next close one was this:
Which I wasn't thrilled about.
Then came this, which I was even less thrilled about...

Then today I found this one, which I thought, "eh, kinda gothic looking but def unique and doable..."

So I emailed the lady cleverly disguised in the picture above, but continued on my search ........

aaaaaaand found this beauty an hour north of me:

I immediately emailed and asked for a pic of the cabinet door closed....

And now I'm in heaven....

Waiting to hear back about pickup time, but this baby is mine, no matter who I've got to run over with the Hummer.... (Ok well not really, but I am not letting this one slip away without a fight!!!!!)

A's for Apple, B's for Boy and C is for Chalk Paint :)

The adorable early 20th century school desk that will now become the kids' homework desk. This is going into a room with white furniture, and you know me, Miss OCD, I had to make it match... but per the kids request, I decided to paint it a light gray and white instead.... and with my little girl's help, we got started chalk painting!

C putting her chalk painting skills to the test ;)

Jr. helped me wax it.
(sorry I was so excited my glued-to-the-iPod-son was helping that I forgot to snap a picture!)

And here we have our final result.

I don't know about y'all, but I can see future full-ride-college-scholarship recipients having a grand ole time finishing up their home work on this school desk! =P

Finally a break from work!

Finally have a *short* break between shifts to pick up some awesome furniture pieces tomorrow!! Mama's got lots of work to do, and daddy's not gonna be happy until all the pieces are done and found a home outside of his garage!

(Quick! How many items can we hide under the tarp?!)

A few teasers...

Divalicious! Modern Shabby Chic Vanity Table

Remember this vintage craigslist find?!

Well she got a makeover... as promised!
First, Van Gogh's Diva underneath, then Revenge on top for the distressing :)

 Let the distressing begin!
I used a wet t-shirt distressing technique for this, and it turned out awesome!

Then cover up the gorgeous hardware with some more Diva... lovin' it!

And here we have the [almost] finished product! (I have plans on painting the grooves hot pink as well, but VG's Diva is a bit transluscent and will take several coats to get to a bright shade of hot pink, so I opted to grab some hot pink acrylic paint from the hobby store at a later time..)

The semi-final result...
I. Am. In. LOVE. <3
