Divalicious! Modern Shabby Chic Vanity Table

Remember this vintage craigslist find?!

Well she got a makeover... as promised!
First, Van Gogh's Diva underneath, then Revenge on top for the distressing :)

 Let the distressing begin!
I used a wet t-shirt distressing technique for this, and it turned out awesome!

Then cover up the gorgeous hardware with some more Diva... lovin' it!

And here we have the [almost] finished product! (I have plans on painting the grooves hot pink as well, but VG's Diva is a bit transluscent and will take several coats to get to a bright shade of hot pink, so I opted to grab some hot pink acrylic paint from the hobby store at a later time..)

The semi-final result...
I. Am. In. LOVE. <3

Porch Bench Refinish

I am IN LOVE with this awesome find on one of the local Facebook yard sale pages!

Picked it up Saturday morning and by Saturday night, I had two coats of chalk paint on it. I decided to only chalk paint the seat in Van Gogh's Revenge since the sexy legs already started out black. This way I have a nice two tone black when I am done, rather than the bench being all one shade of sheen. I decided against distressing it because it is gorgeous the way it is. The sexy legs do all the talking!

Finished product with a polyacrylic top coat... Looks amazing on my front porch!!

Victorian clock makeover

I've been eyeing this one in the background pictures from the American Vintage Home Store and have been meaning to ask A about it.

So today when I stopped by A's store in Broadway for some Van Gogh Chalk Paint, my brain kicked in and I remembered to ask! She never had a chance to finish it, but it was fine with me... She's already chalk painted it so it took away the prep work for me, yay!

And of course since its going in Miss Divalicious' room,
I had to maintain the hot pink and black victorian theme.
The black is on!
(aaaand it was a beautiful, sunny day out... I threw on a tank and some shorts and got my tan on as well :))

And voila, here's the finished product. Van Gogh's Revenge and Diva used.
I'm in chalk painter's heaven!!

Vintage is the new New

There are three things that have changed since moving back to North Carolina. Appreciation for sweet tea, country music... and my newest addiction, french provincial furniture to furnish my new home! After taking chalk painting classes taught by Amy from the American Vintage Home Store and learning more about Van Gogh's chalk paint, I am now on the hunt for some amazing french provincial/Victorian furniture that I can keep busy with and turn it shabby chic to fit our furnishing needs.

First thing I bought at Amy's shop was this adorable antique wood school desk chair!
Not french provincial, I know, but I'm ok with taking chances learning on this piece of furniture first!

Next, I came across the perfect vanity table and chair for my daughter's room! A young, girl soldier from Bragg who didn't have time to finish her project and just wanted to find a new home for it. I got it at an awesome price!

I plan on chalk painting it with black, distressed with hot pink undertones and hardware to match my little girl's bedroom!

Ahhh, yes!!
